Merry Christmas Everyone...

I hope you all have a wonderful day wherever you may be.

22 December 2012

I decided to go to Dads today in Maungaturoto before the big rains hit! Talk about a hot day, and so much traffic heading North & South, there were pretty much queues from Tristram Ave on the North Shore to Warkworth.

Finally got to Dads and his garden is looking great..isn't the blue Hydranga stunning. (Mines not even flowering)

Hydranga

This was grown from a cutting from the Blue Hydranga

Gladioli

Lillies
How about these for cute Welcome Swallows..

and a Kingfisher

Jake doesn't like flies (do any of us for that matter!) so he hides underneath the sofa. Usually he goes right under, but they must have only been semi bothering him.

Had a nice visit left to come home about 4.00pm, just got on the other side of Warkworth and had a massive tyre blow out. (I had taken the Pajero not my car) you can see all the wires coming through the rubber, the whole thing was crazed, I was lucky it had not shredded.

Thank goodness for road side assistance. Nice man fixed the tyre and finally got home at 7.30pm. Long day in the end.

Campa is now out of the water and being stripped down for the new boat. But they were putting this boat in the water, no signage or any idea of what this is for, to small for an Americas Cup Challenge.

My new car was waiting for me on the wharf, a....Lamborghini

and how about these cool door handles at the Botswana Butchery (this is a restaurant not a butchers although that is what the name implies!)

and beanbags to rest in at Britomart Park

We had our work function at the Bluestone Room. It is now one Auckland's oldest commercial buildings. Located on Durham Lane, just off Queen Street, it’s a superbly restored heritage building, with a stone floor entranceway, exposed native Kauri beams, wood panels atop bare volcanic stonewalls and rustic furnishings.

A plaque in the floor also records that it was the site of Auckland’s first well, it’s still there for customers to peer down into the crystal clear water, so there’s definitely history when it comes to quenching the thirsts of inner city Aucklanders.

Afterwards I wanted to take some photographs. below are some shots of around the city.
