Another week done and dusted

Not too much happened this week.

Finally finished (hopefully) unpacking cartons from the move, and there seems to be some order around the place.
Today I spent sewing curtains and a bit of pottering outside while the sun was shining.

The weather was pretty crappy the past week to get out and take photos, with torrential rain, thunder and lightning.

Friday 26th April 2013

Today there was a small break in the weather and I went to Shed 10 to check out some work by Askew One, these were commissioned by the council for the Trenz Trade Event.

Thursday 25th April 2013

Its a public holiday today as it is Anzac Day, the Sky Tower was red tonight. I took the following picture from our front yard, not too good but you get the idea.

I'm afraid that's it for this week.

Did you miss me?????

Well its been nearly 5 weeks since my last post.

Due to some hiccups in life I haven't had time to update.

We were due to move house on the 23rd March when on the 21st March ........

Malcolm fell off a ladder and...
...fractured a rib

and we ended up in..

for 5 hours...sigh.

This caused a few problems with the move and we ended up having to hire 2 men and a truck.

=

We have downsized but its not been easy trying to fit a 4 bedroom house and garage with a 2 room basement storage  area into a 3 bedroom house with 1 garage. But somehow we managed, its surprising how much 'junk' you accumulate over the years. Isn't it great there's an inorganic collection this week.

We also have quite nice views to the East and West from the new house.
Including views of the Auckland Sky Tower, One Tree Hill and Mt Roskill.

The photos of One Tree Hill and Mt Roskill, were taken on Friday morning (19th April) from my dining room window, when we had the most glorious sunrise. Unfortunately you cannot quite see the cross on Mt Roskill from this angle.

There are still plenty of Tui around this area as well, as there are a lot of Bottle Brush trees growing in the streets.

We also have a Karo tree which has amazing flowers in the summer that the native birds love, cannot wait to see this in flower.

I have also had a rotten cold and I have been off work for a few days.

On Sunday (before I got the cold) we went to the Viaduct to watch the final show called The Sailors on the La Loupiote sail boat.

Also the boys from the boat Mistero had just got back from fishing, and had this massive Kingfish about 25 kilos I reckon.

Apart from all of this, things are slowly falling into place, we are settling in nicely and Malcolm's rib is healing.

I still have a nasty cough, but this will also pass in time.
(Hope it doesn't take too long, its driving me nuts)

... and a BIG Thank You to all the Family who helped out during the move, we couldn't have done it without you.

Hope to be back with regular updates next week.
