Must have been something happening so lets see how this goes.

Wednesday 20th November 2013

There is a restaurant in town called Soul Bar, and it always has the most amazing hanging baskets in the outside area. At the moment the theme is white, the red you can see are some Christmas Poinsettia Flower decorations, there is also a hint of blue in some of the baskets.

Tonight I made 2 Christmas Cards, they are very pretty but the photos do not do them justice, as it is very difficult to see the detail from the photos.

Now that the nights are warmer and our Night Scented Stock is in full bloom, the house and garden is filled with an amazing scent. It is very highly perfumed and fills the room as it wafts in, its tempting to keep the windows open even when it cools down.

The Bougainvillea is in full flower and looks stunning.
These photos taken as the sun was going down.

This weekend was the Henderson Craft Show, raising funds for Hospice. Malcolm, Mum and I had a stand this year (haven't had one for a couple of years). Was a very busy weekend, the fine weather must have brought everyone out.

There was also a couple of Irish musicians called the Twisty Willows and they were brilliant.

The photos above are of our stand

Below are some bottle toppers made for the show as samples.

Malcolm made the 2 above and I made the 2 below.

Happy Diwali

Our company is owned by an Indian, and today we celebrated Diwali, with Indian Sweets, candles (albeit not real ones) there were Rangoli, and you could also have your hands hennaed.
Unfortunately the photos are not that great as I took them on my mobile.

Today is Halloween, although it is not huge here in NZ, there were quite a few parties around town.
I spotted these at the Waterfront Cafe and Bar

At its core, Tamaki Makaurau - The Many Lovers of Auckland is a story-telling platform for the people of Auckland to connect their rich past with the present and future of our city.
It is a celebration of our people, the land, sea and sky. It is about growing pride and local knowledge.
Each one of these stories represents part of our past.
(if you want to read more about each of these stories click on this link and then click on one of the people on the page)

Remember I told you about the super yacht 'A' which has been in for refurbishment, well here is a better photo of it, it was parked up in the middle of the channel. Pretty amazing sight.

Monday 28th October 2013

Today is Labour Day and it is a public holiday. YAY.
We went out to the Fine Wine Delivery Company, where they now sell craft beers on tap and you can fill your own flagon, which of course we did.
While we were out that way we went to Stone and Water World, they have some amazing water features. We have one at home but not in use at the moment, but it has now been resurrected with blue led lights and looks very pretty at night.

This morning I woke to find this in the dishwasher soap dispenser!!!

..a Weta...yuck.

Today we decided to go to the Temple we hadn't been for a year and it was cherry blossom time again.
Such a calming place, the monks and worshippers were in and the chanting was beautiful.

I walked down to Silo Park at lunchtime today to see the super yacht Nahlin, what a beautiful old ship, with many a royal tale to tell!

Unfortunately a crane was in front, typical

Also down at Wynyard Quarter the Hipstamatics Funk Band were playing great tunes.

Today the Tall Ships arrived in port for Labour Weekend, they have raced across the Tasman for the Tall Ships Festival in Auckland. There were 8 ships taking part. If you click on this Tall Ships link, you will find out all about them, they are magnificent when in full sail.
