September Wrap Up

So..another month has flown by....and now its Spring.
But gawd the weather has been atrocious I have never known Auckland to have so much rain for so many days in a row!
Turns out we have had the wettest September in 50 years.
Then on the last week of the month the sun shines and it is nice and warm!
I have been away for work again this month, this time to Whakatane, to a little place called Taneatua.
So what's been happening!

Tuesday 30th September 2014
How about this for the last day of the month, absolutely gorgeous and its warm.

I walked down to the Silo at lunchtime to see what was happening, and on the way stopped at Gelatiamo at North Wharf for a Mango Sorbet..scrummy

At the Silo they were showing photos from the Globe Trot'art Exhibition

Today the Auckland on Water Boat Show started, so I wandered over at lunchtime to check out what I could. (As you had to pay to get in to the main display)

The next two photos are showing boats by a company called Sealegs, these boats are amphibious, so you can drive them on the road and go on the water in them without stopping.

Yesterday at the book launch I bought some of Annabels Micro Greens.
Here they are planted up, and just waiting for them to grow...........

Sunday 14th September 2014
Today I went to Bubbles & Books (self explanatory really), this was a book launch for Annabel Langbein's new book 'Through the Seasons'. Kerre McIvor was the MC and as usual it was a hoot.
When you arrived you were given a glass of bubbles. (Or orange juice if you preferred).
We went in to find the tables full of Savory and Sweet Muffins, Croissants and French Pastries.
Annable demonstrated some of her recipies, and while she did this we got to sample the exact same thing made by the chefs at Skycity.
It was a great morning, with two very funny ladies.

Now what do you think of these table and chairs??
Pretty cool... the chairs are made out of cable drums, we put a back on made some cushions and stencilled a zebras backside on. (If you didn't realise that's what it was), there are also wheels on the bottom so they can be moved around easily.
The table is also a cable drum with the base removed, and put on top of some old chair wheels also makes it mobile.
Dare I say another BHG project!!!

Wednesday 3rd - Thursday 4th September 2014
I flew to Whakatane this morning to do training for a couple of days at a little place called Taneatua. This new little medical clinic is part of Tuhoe, and I might add the weather was lovely and warm.

This is the clinic way out in a paddock

Villa used for meetings and can be hired out

The following photos are of Te Uru Taumatua, the new Tuhoe Building, it also has a Café, Library and Museum. I have heard it is stunning at night when it is all lit up, unfortunately I could not get there to see it at night.
