Another full week in the city this week..and yes there are a lot more boats, but what else can I say, I work with the harbour at my doorstep.

Happy Valentines Day
Today was a huge day in the city. I stayed later in town today to watch a show called "Entre Île et Aile" performed on a boat called La Loupiote to learn more Click here
There was a lot of boats in and out of the harbour, the super yacht Ulysses owned by Graeme Hart has been out of Auckland but arrived back tonight (its for sale if you're interested only a cool $85million NZD)

The above 3 photos are of a boat called Silvertip just arrived in, notice it has its own dive chamber, this also holds a small boat as well.

12 February 2013
A very grey day today compared to yesterday, we even had a bit of rain, however it seemed to have evaporated before it even hit the ground. Today a magnificent super yacht called Janice of Wyoming went sailing in the harbour, its hard to tell by these photos but it really is a monster of a yacht. Check out the link above

I spotted this Austin 7 at Silo Park today pretty cool.
More Art for you today, this time we are at Silo 6 at Wynyard Quarter, Silo 6 is six old towers that used to contain dry cement, they are empty now and are used for art exhibitions. First up are some photos of the silo itself, inside and out, I know you can only see 4 towers but believe me there are six.

The three photos above are called Ho'ohuli, created by Melanie, Ahilapalapa & Keva Rands
The artists thought these played quite nicely with the history of the silos and with the idea of a horizon like. The balls are aluminium coconuts. The poem on the second photo is:
Kai vulagi on the bunks & everyone else down below
All their spirits rolled into one
The night my father came
With whales teeth and a turtle shell
On the Matua
All 355.2 feet of her round
Cape Brett and up the
Rangitoto channel
When the boat comes
down
To Mrs Harveys boarding house on
Hepburn Street in Freemans Bay
A gas stove and a double bed
In her refrigerated hold
When the boat comes down
A dalaloulaci lies unconscious on the ground
4 nights of singing the horizon away
The banana boat swinging
16 knots into diesel sunsets
On twin Armstrong-Sulzer 6 cylinder engines
Bob ‘Gin’ rocking her golden whiskey
Cabin for 3 days straight
The night my father came
With 2000 tonnes of ripening cargo
Her quota of islanders bursting
