The bird apartment has been attracting the birds of late. Unfortunately they are not using this as a nesting box but just to hop in and out of and admire the scenery.

Our poor old kitty snoozing under the hedge amongst the leaves.
Well she is trying to have a snooze, but giving me an unimpressed look for disturbing her.

It was an eerie morning on my way to work this morning, with a low fog over the city. It took until midday to clear, very unusual.

Because the Rugby World Cup is on, our plastic milk bottles are.......BLACK and have numbers to match the All Black Jerseys

The people across the road have chickens and they are behind bars. (I wonder what they did to be behind bars)
Anyhoo... they can get through those bars and they wander the streets, they cross the road to visit us and poop everywhere...... Nice...NOT!

We have a Cherry Tree only a few metres from our front door, we thought it would be too close to the house for the Tui to land in, well we were wrong.
Take some Wooden Dowel, also some Wooden Pegs or Bulldog Clips and Ribbon.
Wind the ribbon around the dowel and then wet the ribbon, place it in the oven on tin foil on a baking tray. Bake for 20 minutes at 120 deg C.
When cool remove pegs or clips and slide off the dowel
Cut to desired lengths and tie off and Hey Presto Hair Ties.
A couple of other things I made with ribbon you could use these to decorate gifts.
